The document schema
GET /public/v1/files/{file_id}/document and GET /public/v1/documents/{document_id} answer a document as ocost.document.v1, in the terms of EN 16931 (the e-invoice norm behind XRechnung, ZUGFeRD and Peppol UBL). Each value names its business term (BT-…) or group (BG-…), so it maps to UBL or CII.
The shape is stable: a breaking change comes as ocost.document.v2 under /public/v2, with v1 served 12 months more.
Conventions
- Amounts and quantities: decimal strings as printed (
"1270.92","2.5"), never numbers. Use a decimal type. - Rates: percent strings (
"19","7","0","5.5"). - Dates ISO 8601 (
2026-11-03), currencies ISO 4217 (EUR), countries ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 (DE). - Units: UNECE Recommendation 20 (
C62one,H87piece,HURhour,KGMkilogram) and Recommendation 21 packages with theirX(XCTcarton,XPFpallet). Unknown isnull, neverC62. - Absent is
null: not printed, or dropped because Ocost wasn't sure. Ocost never guesses.
